It has yet again been a while since I updated. I thought that I would give an update on what has been going on in my life. The last time that I updated this site was back a little over 3 months ago when I posted asking James out. Three months later and I am glad that I did! I know that if you go back in the archive of this site and read previous posts about ex-boyfriends, you will see that I always think that they are “the one” and that it is going to last forever and all of this. This time, I think it is the real deal.
In the past few months, we have been super chill about things and we love each other very much. It isn’t an intense burn bright and fast then go out type of feeling this time. It built up slowly and is fairly intense right now and has stabilized there. We have not argued or had any fights about anything which has never happened to me in any relationship. We both want the same things from life. A house, kids, time with each other to travel, relax and just be happy.
I have never been in a relationship where I wasn’t the main giver. With James, he is the main giver (so far, I don’t plan on letting him lead forever) and I just enjoy his company. I have met his sister Amy, niece Emma and brother-in-law Jon. Jon and I hit it off really well. A couple weekends ago we went to Minneapolis so James could have LASIK and we stayed Friday through Monday at Amy and Jon’s house. Jon works for Target and is a computer nerd like me, so we chatted about that for a while. James loves Emma a ton and watching him with her, I know that he is going to be an amazing father!
I had met James’ brother John a couple of times now when we went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with his wife, Heather. They are really nice people too. Last weekend I went with them paintballing for the first time ever. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards, we went to dinner at this pizza place in Sparta that was pretty good.
If there was a downside to James, I would have to say that he is the opposite end of the spectrum from me when it comes to being a social being. I like a lot of time alone or with just him and he has a lot of friends that he values greatly and loves spending time with. I get a little jealous (even though it is completely ridiculous) when he spends time with them and not me. This will be something I will work on over time.
I hope that I can look back on this blog in a few years and still feel the same way (if not somehow better) about James that I do right now. I really do think this is the one that is going to last the test of time. He is everything that I want in a partner through life. I just hope that in the long run, I can be that for him too.
Otherwise, I have been working on transitioning from floor crew at WKBT to a “Photojournalist”. Right now, I split my 28 hours a week between the two working Monday, Wednesday and Fridays on floor crew and Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday photog. The other part time guy, Zack, is leaving soon, so I will be taking over his Saturday shifts as well. I should only have another couple of weeks on floor crew and then that ends that chapter of my career there.
In what little free time that I have after that, I have been working on my weekly YouTube show “Disneyland Weekly”, which provides weekly news and information on the Disneyland Resort. James has also started helping with this as a producer for this weeks episode. He produces the 6 and 10 news at WKBT, so it’s not like he doesn’t know what he’s doing.
