Disneyland

Fun will ensue

Tonight and in 10 days (Disneyland)! I can’t wait.

Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage

I knew that the line for the Submarine Voyage at Disneyland was going to be long, but HOLY SHIT! Just follow the link and look at the line formations.

Looking Forward

Well, so far, since Friday, things have been pretty good. Last Monday I got my review at work which went pretty well. Got some good feedback, and was able to discuss some things about work that I think will help make it a better place than it already is. Speaking of which, 3 of 6 queues at work are at 0!

I have been feeling well, which is also a major plus. I went over my finances on paper yesterday and made a plan to have enough money to pay Laura back, save for my trip, pay all my bills, etc. and still have money left over. I am looking forward to going to Disneyland in July.

I am a bit sad that Laura’s nephew, Anthony, may not be making it because of his grades and his bad attitude. I hope that he will be able to go, but if not, it is his own fault. It would also be cool if Laura’s friend Francisca would come as well. We will see how that goes.

I suddenly ran out of stuff to write that I was going to write about. I will continue this later…

Weekend Awesomeness

I just want to say that this weekend at work was completely awesome! The call volume was light, the ticket queue’s got their ass kicked, and it was an overall great time to be at work!

Now for this week – I have such a busy day! I have to do Laundry today (I hate laundry), go to the store with my mom, I want to mess around with my room (again) and just be LAZY!

Tomorrow, I have a doctors appointment at 1:30 with a Urologist to talk about my kidney stones (that still haven’t passed), as well as seeing my actual doctor on Wednesday to see if I can get in for allergy testing (to see what I am allergic to), start getting an annual STD test (since my last one was some time ago, and it is always good to get tested, you never know), and just have a regular visit to my doctor. I look forward to seeing Dr.Catlett and getting all this taken care of. It will not be my normal relaxing days off, but I will get a lot done!

In other news, Laura and I booked the hotel room for Disneyland from July 8-14! This trip should be fun! Laura, Charise, Brenda (Laura’s mom), Jonathan, Anthony (not looking likely at this point), Andrea, possibly Francisca and me. Taking kids to Disneyland for the first time should definitely be a new experience.

Also, thought that I would mention that I had another strange nightmare last night/this morning; I was in the back parking lot of my complex (right out my bedroom window), getting head from some stranger, and this truck pulls up with two Hispanic guys in it (with their headlights out, it was dark outside in the dream), they back up and start trying to run us over. We get out of the way and run up to Kevin’s house. We look off the back porch into the parking lot, and it looks like a battlefield. The red truck peels out and drives off, most of the cars in the lot are damaged, and laying on the ground under Kevin’s balcony is Laura’s dad who apparently was hit by the truck and is possibly dead. Then my alarm went off and now I am at work. Definitely an odd nightmare.

For my friends….

For those friends of mine who know that I love Disneyland and Walt Disney, I found this article that I thought was well written, and I wanted to re-post it here:

The Return

Well, we are back from Disneyland. I had 133 E-Mails when I got back, wow! I made a “Beth Challenge” page at the top for Beth to guess where the pictures were taken, because it was in an area of Disneyland that I had not seen before.

Well, the first day of the trip we got there at 8AM (too bad Disneyland did not open until 10AM!). Everyone had to pee, so we stopped at the Paradise Pier Hotel and used the rest room. I called my mom to check in and she let me know that the computer was bit working right and it sounded like the hard drive had died! After that we drove to our hotel and tried to check in with no luck. After that, we drove back to the Micky and Friends garage and parked, rode the tram to Downtown Disney and walked around before entering the park.

We were there for opening (this NEVER happens) and we were able to get our Annual Passes processed in no time. We ate breakfast and made the rounds. We left a 1/2 hour before the park closed at 8PM and went to the hotel to sleep (we had also left earlier in the day to check in). The beds were hard, the room was crappy (if only that were the only issues with the hotel!).

Wednesday was another full day at Disneyland from the opening! It was fun. All the days blurred together, so it is hard to separate them.

Friday was the first day of Gay Days. Kohl and I wore red and Laura wore her hag shirt (see pictures at the end of this post). There weren’t too many red shirts in the crowds as Gay Days did not officially start until Saturday. We did head on over to the Disneyland Hotel to the Gay Days information center and get some official Gay Days swag (again, see the pictures). It was great!

Saturday, WOW, all the gay people. Laura got to tell off some homophobic guy in the line at Rancho del Zocalo, it was great! Lots of bears though. It was fun. I have never felt so comfortable with being so out as I was in Disneyland, not even the Castro makes me feel that secure about it. I loved it. Kohl didn’t as much. He was done. He was having issues with seeing all the other gay people holding hands, etc and we weren’t. Anyone that know me knows that I am not a touchy feely kind of guy.

Sunday, we only had a one day, one park ticket for Charise, so we spent the day in Disneyland and we massively hit all the rides in a mad dash at the last minute (as per usual). We hit all the ones we wanted on that day, except for Casey Jr, but we rode that one earlier in the week. We stayed until closing and Charise and Laura did some “Main Street will remain open for an additional hour for your shopping convenience” shopping. We went back to the hotel all tired and ready for bed.

When we got to the hotel, the key didn’t work! We went up to the office to see what was up. Apparently, we did not book the hotel room for the full trip, we were a day short. Well, our stuff was still in the room and we needed to get it and stay another night. We asked what the rate was and he said that it was $79. We decided that we needed to go to a different hotel and check out the pricing, etc. We went to the good ol Super 8 that we usually stay at. It was only $54. We checked in and went back to the Alamo (the original hotel) and were informed that we would have to pay the late checkout fee of $10/hour for every hour after checkout. Well, this would have been $130, so we checked in there for another night (only $79) and were not happy about this at all! We got out crap and checked right back out. We had a great nights sleep at the Super 8 and will never stay at the Alamo ever again!

The next morning, we slept in and checked out. We drove to the Paradise Pier and got directions to Burbank where we were going to go and see Jay Leno. On the way, I called Kevin and got exact directions to the Tonight Show studio and we got there in like 20-30 mins. We parked and started waiting for tickets. After about 30 minutes, a nice lady next to us let us know that tickets were on sale at 8AM until they are all gone, and the box office was closed now.

We left the studio and started our trek to try and find Hollywood. We took the wrong way on the freeway and after a few wrong turns, we stopped at a Quizno’s and ate and got good directions to Hollywood. We finally got to Hollywood and walked around the “Walk of Fame”. It was fun. We were done there and started home.

We got home around 11:30PM and I spent until 4:30AM trying to fix my mom’s computer. I finally went to bed. In the morning, I got up and started working on it again. I called work around 12:30 to tell that that I would not be in because I needed to get her computer running. As I was doing this, I realized that I was supposed to be to work at 12. Oops. I guess nobody noticed, or else I would have gotten a call.

I finally got her computer running and then I spent the next part of my day catching up on my TiVo shows and looking at all the pictures we took and uploaded then to Flickr and wrote this post.

That should do it for now. Have a good night everyone!
