Well, today is going to be a really long day! I looked forward to yesterday because I got to go to the cities and visit Jared! I haven’t seen him in over a week and I was really happy to see him.

It all started the night before. I knew that sleep wise, the next couple of days were going to be difficult. I got to sleep at around 11:30 (really early for me). At about 1:30 I got a call from Kohl saying that he was really drunk and his friend got on the phone and said that they were going to be driving him home soon because he had thrown up all over himself and the car. I thought that was fine and went back to bed. at 1:50, I get ANOTHER call from his friend saying that Kohl would not let them drive him home and I needed to come and get him.

I got up, got in my cold car in my PJs and drove down 90 towards the northside ShopKo which is around where his friend lived. I missed the damn exit on the freeway because I couldn’t see very well and was going too fast and would have crashed if I took the off-ramp at the speed I was going. I had to wait until the next exit (on French Island) to turn around and get off the correct exit. I eventually got to his friends house and had to go in and get Kohl off the bathroom floor. It was not pretty.

I eventually got him in the car and we started driving home. I had to stop a block down the street from his friends house so Kohl could vomit out the door into the street. We drove another block and he threw up again! Then he started cussing at me and I was not happy about it. I almost kicked him out of the car and made him walk home. We eventually made it home and Kohl needed a bath. Long story short, he got in the bathtub, threw up more, cried and eventually made it into bed and went to sleep after trying to cuddle with me and being denied. This brings the time to about 3AM.

I got up at like 9AM, ended up leaving home at 10:30AM with Beth and Matt. First, we went to Taco Johns and Shell to get gas and food in the morning. After that, we started our trek to the cities. The beginning of the drive was uneventful until we were half way to Rochester. That is where the snow storm started. We went between 65 and 25 miles per hour until we were half way between Rochester and the cities.

There were a few times where it was a little hard to drive and the visibility was down to almost nothing, but we made it. I dropped them off at the airport and it said that their flight was on time, so they went through security and I went over to the Mall of America to meet Jared. By this time it was 2:30 and I was excited. Beth called to let me know that the flight was delayed because of delays in San Francisco. They would either take off 2 hours late, or circle SFO for 2 hours. It is cheaper to stay grounded, so they did.

I parked over at the Mall and texted Jared to let him know I was at the mall. He texted back that he would head on over, but it would be like an hour. That was fine, because you can easily kill an hour in the mall. I walked around, bought a new screen protector for my iPhone, checked out the new rides that they were building and just people watched. Jared texted about 3:30 to say that he would be late and would be there at 4:15. I was out of stuff to do, so I sat and text messaged Laura and Charise about stuff and waited.

Jared arrived at 4:10ish and we went into Abercrombie and Fitch where he bought a couple of shirts. Then we went into Fossil to look around, then we left to go to dinner. Jared had never been to the Cheesecake Factory and I LOVE eating there, and found one like 15 mins away form the mall in Edina (a suburb of Minneapolis). We ate there and Jared liked it. I was happy about that, but I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like eating there. We wanted to see Untraceable, so I looked up showtimes and there was a theatre in the mall that the Cheesecake Factory was at, but the showing wasn’t until 8:40 and it was 6:10.

Jared suggested that we go to this theatre downtown which had a showing at 6:50. I wasn’t sure that we were going to make it, but we were going to try. Jared takes public transportation and was not 100% sure how to get downtown to this theatre from where we were. We did find it and just in time. We had 10 minutes to showtime and got good seats.

It was a pretty good movie. It was the only movie that I have ever seen where the computer mumbo jumbo was CORRECT! I was excited by that. After the movie, we went to the U of M campus where Jared is a student and he showed me his dorm room. He then took me on a grand circle tour of the campus and the Student Union building was awesome. We walked across this bridge that took us to the other bank of the Mississippi where the rest of the campus was. There are a lot of beautiful buildings on this campus and it is pretty big.

Afterwards, we went back to his dorm building and he played the piano for me (some of my favorite times with Jared is when he is playing the piano, MAN!). I was going to die of tiredness, so at about 11:15 he walked me back to my car and I left.

My iPhone was being a bitch and it got me lost in Minneapolis. I drove around in circles and was not very happy about it. Eventually, I was able to pull up correct directions from where I was to home. It took like 3 hours and there was a small part of the drive where there was a storm, but other than that, it was pretty uneventful. I got home at like 2:40AM, and needed to get to sleep as I work today at 11:30 – 7:30, then I get to go back at 9 to whenever we get this shelf built. I hope that goes well.

This is a song that Jared turned me on to and Beth and I have stuck in our heads:

Maroon 5 – Won’t Go Home Without You Lyrics

I asked her to stay but she wouldn’t listen
She left before I had the chance to say
Oh
The words that would mend the things that were broken
But now it’s far too late, she’s gone away

Every night you cry yourself to sleep
Thinking: “Why does this happen to me?
Why does every moment have to be so hard?”
Hard to believe it
It’s not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won’t go home without you

The taste of her breath, I’ll never get over
The noises that she made kept me awake
Oh
The weight of things that remain unspoken
Built up so much it crushed us everyday

Every night you cry yourself to sleep
Thinking: “Why does this happen to me?
Why does every moment have to be so hard?”
Hard to believe it

It’s not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won’t go home without you

It’s not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won’t go home without you

Of all the things I felt but never really shown
Perhaps the worst is that I ever let you go
I should not ever let you go, oh oh oh

It’s not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won’t go home without you

It’s not over tonight
Just give me one more chance to make it right
I may not make it through the night
I won’t go home without you
And I won’t go home without you
And I won’t go home without you
And I won’t go home without you
