Well, there are only 7 more hours that I will be in the office. 5 hours actually on the phones, 1 hour in a meeting and 1 hour for lunch. In the end, it will probably turn out to be 3.5 hours on the phone, 1 hour in the meeting and 1 hour for lunch. I have to meet with Jen (the Office Manager) to get some paperwork filled out so I can work in Wisconsin with Sonic.net.
I finally got all the VPN stuff working for Sonic.net so I can work remotely. It will be fun to do tickets from home and/or the library in Wisconsin.
I will miss working with all the good folks in the office here at Sonic.net. I liked giving Kavan shit over my cube wall, yelling yer mom jokes at Ryan and the all around tom foolery of working next to Kim, Jasper and John F. on the weekends. There are a lot of memories with the folks at Sonic.net, so I will miss them (as well as the Christmas Party and Birthday picnic in the summer time). Oh, well I need to move on and do what is best for me and my family.
It will be much easier to get a job and pay the bills in Wisconsin as well as move into my own place in a year or so that it would EVER be here in Santa Rosa – or ANYWHERE in California. I will get to see the country on the way there, which is something that I have been wanting to do for a long time. It will be a long drive (longer if it is raining, snowing or extremely windy), but I think this will be a great experience in the end and I look forward to starting my new life in Onalaska.
Well, with only 10 days left before the “big move” Laura, Charise and I went to San Francisco yesterday. We had fun. We went to the Metreon, Old Navy, the Apple Store, Union Square, the Castro, the Embarcadero and Twin Peaks. We had a really good time. We ate at Harveys where I had this really good Ranch Wrap thing and the best salad that I have had in recent memory. I then proceeded to be a fat ass and go to Osaka Sushi and have some sushi.

In other news, tomorrow is my last day in the office at Sonic.net and the LAST DAY taking first tier support calls! I am SO happy about that! I will just have to do what we call new user callbacks which are tickets that get generated when a new account is opened so we can give them a call and make them feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Unfortunately, so many telemarketers have muddied the water that most of the time people think that we are trying to sell them something and they hang up on us. The ones who don’t love it though and that makes it all worth it.
Well, since the day has been pretty mellow here at Sonic.net this Saturday (my last in the office), I was able to clean up my desk, pack most of my crap and take it home and get some pics of the servers, data center and my server in said data center.
